NOVEMBER 10, 2015

   Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Hatfield Township Police Chief William Tierney announce the arrest of Oscar Rivera Herrera for Rape, Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault, Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Terroristic Threats, and Simple Assault.

   On November 9,2015, at 4:02 A.M. the Hatfield Township Police Department received a report of a burglary in progress at the Hatfield Village Apartments, Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, PA. The eleven year- old male juvenile caller advised County Radio that an adult male broke in to his family's apartment and may have done "something" to his sister. The adult male was being held at the scene by the child's step-father. When police arrived, they were directed to a bedroom in the apartment where they found the defendant, Oscar Rivera Herrera, lying on the floor of the bedroom. The defendant was later identified as the individual who broke into the apartment and sexually assaulted a six year -old female who was sleeping in the bedroom.

   The defendant was provided the opportunity to speak with detectives about the incident. During his interview, the defendant admitted to entering the apartment through a living room window. The defendant also admitted to getting in to the same bed as the six year-old victim. The defendant admitted he had broken into this same apartment approximately two or three months ago, though no one was present at the time.

   The defendant was arraigned last night before Magisterial District Judge Scott T. Palladino. Bail was set at $1,000,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 19th, 2015, at 10:00 AM and will be held in front of Magisterial District Judge Harold D. Borek. Magisterial District Judge Borek's courtroom is located at 430 Pennbrook Parkway, Lansdale, PA 19446.
